Day 1 Results
Piscataway, N.J. – The Fordham track and field team began competition at the 2017 Metropolitan Championship at Rutgers' Bauer Track & Field Complex on Friday where the Fordham women currently sit in second place, while the men are in fourth.
The highlights of the day for the Rams came in the women's 10,000 meter run with sophomore
Abigail Taylor winning the event in a time of 38.47.24 and in the 3,000 meter steeplechase where
Laurel Fisher picked up her second win of the season in that event in a time of 11:14.80.
Also competing on the women's side were
Kylie Farrell and
Alina Kwiatkowski who are currently in third and 13
th place in the heptathlon with 2,423 and 1,385 points, respectively, through four events.
Also running in the 10K were
Angelina Grebe (3
rd – 39:06.14),
Kieran Hanrahan (4
th – 39.29.18),
Cristina Ulto (5
th – 40:32.59) and
Maiya Larsen (6
th – 41:23.27).
Adrianna Batista finished tenth in the hammer at 95' 6".
On the men's side, a week after setting the school record in the pole vault,
Ryan Riviere turned in another strong performance, finishing second in that event at 13'11 ¾". Riviere also currently sits in second place in the decathlon with 2,704 points followed by teammate
Jeremy Milite who is currently in fourth with 2,480 points.
Also competing on the men's side were
Jake Duckworth (4
th – 32.24.72) and
Phil Robbins (7
th – 34:59.00) in the 10,000 meter run and
Nicholas Regan (3
rd – 188'2") and
Vaughan Taylor (8
th – 149'10") in the javelin throw.
The final day of competition begins Saturday at 10:30 a.m.
