Boston, Mass. – The Fordham track and field team began its final indoor meet of the season on Saturday, as the 2017 ECAC/IC4A Championship got underway at the BU Track & Tennis Center in Boston.
The Rams competed in seven events on day one and saw three individuals and one relay qualify for Sunday's final.

The day began in the 400 meter run with
Jared Benn qualifying for Sunday's final in personal-best time of 48.67.
Next up was the 500 meter run where
Michael Petersen won his heat and finished second overall in a personal best time of 1:02.92.
In the 800 meter run,
Louis Santelli finished second in his heat and qualified fifth overall in a personal-best time of 1:50.86.
In the 5,000 meter run,
Thomas Slattery finished third overall with a time of 14:15.97.

Other performers included
Richard Webber who finished 31
st in the 200 meter dash in 22.36 seconds, Fordham's 4x800 meter relay team of
Fritz Heinrich, Petersen,
Sean Phillips and Santelli, which finished in 11
th place in 7:43.92 and the distance medley relay team of
Nik O'Brien,
Jared Benn,
Patrick Dineen and
Devin Rocks finished 20
th in a time of 10:07.07.
On the women's side, Fordham's 4x800 relay team of
Sydney Snow,
Shanna Heaney,
Kate McCormack and
Merissa Wright qualified for Sunday's final winning its heat and finishing second overall in a season-best time of 8:55.33.
Mary Kate Kenny finished 25
th in the 200 meter dash in 25.28 seconds.
