Philadelphia, Pa. – The Fordham women's tennis team earned a hard fought 4-3 victory over conference foe Duquesne at the Springton Tennis Club in Media, Pa. this afternoon.
Fordham earned what proved to be a crucial doubles point to start the match, as
Maia Balce and
Carolina Sa defeated Zuzanna Stelmaszak and Ally Miller 7-6 (2) in second doubles and
Mayu Sato and
Alexis Zobeideh defeated Megan Wasson and Laurel Shymansky 6-4 in third doubles.
The teams would go on to split the singles matches three points apiece as
Carina Ma defeated Kylie Isaacs 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in first singles,
Maia Balce bested Megan Wasson 6-3, 6-4 in third singles and
Mayu Sato fought back to defeat Ally Miller 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 in fourth singles.
The Rams return to action Sunday April 2 as they host Sacred Heart on Senior Day at Hawthorn Rooney Tennis Courts.
