Richmond, Va. - The Fordham track & field team wrapped up their stay at the Fred Hardy Invitational on Saturday, competing in eight more events.

The day was highlighted by several top-20 finishes on the women's side, beginning in the finals of the 100 meter dash where
Mary Kate Kenny finished sixth in a time of 13.07. The Rams also had a strong showing in the 800 meter run with
Shanna Heaney leading the pack finishing sixth in 2:16.00, followed by
Kate McCormack (8
th – 2:20.14),
Aidan Moroz (9
th – 2:20.43),
Leah Hickey (14
th – 2:21.53,
Georgeanne Siller (18
th – 2:23.60),
Laurel Fisher (19
th – 2:24.54) and
Blake Elwood (20
th – 2:24.75).
Other top performers for the Rams included
Merissa Wright who finished fourth in the 400 meter dash in 56.87 and in the field,
Gabriella Gavalas finished seventh in the long jump at 5.26m.
On the men's side,
Jared Benn led the way for the Rams, finishing sixth in the 400 meter dash in 48.51. Fordham had two top-20 finishes in the 800 meter run as
Fritz Heinrich and
Sean Sullivan placed 12
th and 17
th with times of 1:58.83 and 1:59.89, respectively.

The Rams had a strong performances in the relays as Moroz, Siller,
Kaia Corthell and
Josephine Jacob-Dolan placed third in the women's 4x800 in 9:42.82,
Morgan Menzzasalma, Wright, Heaney and
Jennifer Boerke finished fourth in the 4x400 in 3:58.85 and Fisher, Hickey, McCormack and
Laura Jaeger placed fifth in the 4x100 in 50.67. On the men's side,
Nik O'Brien,
Sean Phillips,
Devin Rocks and Heinrich finished second in the 4x800 in 7:54.69 and
Eddie Dehais,
Devin Rocks, Phillips and Andre Guthrie placed 11
th in the 4x400 in 3:32.88.
Fordham also had competitors in the 3,000 meter run, 200 meter dash and high jump. The best finishes in those events were
Isabel Huelskamp, who finished 18th in the 3,000 in 11:01.70, Kenny, who took 28
th, in the 200 meter dash in 26.55 and Dehais who finished 23
rd in the 200 in 23.29.
The Fordham track & field team will next be in action on March 31-April 1, as they compete in the Colonials Relays in Williamsburg, Va.
