Richmond, Va. - The Fordham Track & Field team began its outdoor season on Friday at the two-day Fred Hardy Invitational, held at the University of Richmond.

On day one Fordham competed in four events overall with the team's best performances coming in the 1,500 meter run. On the men's side,
Louis Santelli finished third in a time of 3:56.16, followed by

Thomas Slattery finishes fourth
in 1,5000 meter run
The rest of the Fordham competitors on day one were in the field events. On the men's side
Ryan Riviere finished second in the pole vault, clearing 4.41m and
Nicholas Regan finished sixth in the javelin at 57.22m followed by Riviere who placed 14
th at 44.02m.
On the women's side,
Gabriella Gavalas finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.56m and
Alina Kwiatkowski finished 13
th at 10.45m.
