Edward Kull Named Senior Director of Development/Senior Associate Athletic Director at Fordham University

Brings 14 years of experience to Rose Hill

Bronx, N.Y. – Edward M. Kull, Senior Vice President at GENYOUth Foundation, has been named Senior Director of Development and Senior Associate Athletic Director at Fordham University it was announced today. He will commence his new position on May 1, 2017 and be responsible for leading the annual and major gift fundraising efforts supporting 22 intercollegiate and club sports.

"He brings a wealth of experience, both in marketing and fundraising, which will greatly benefit Fordham Athletics, especially the student-athletes. We look forward to having Ed join the Fordham team."
 
"Ed Kull is a seasoned and accomplished fund raiser, coach, and leader with an excellent track record in both the business world as well as higher education," said Michael T. Boyd, Fordham's Senior Associate Vice President for Development and University Relations. "We are extremely fortunate to be able to recruit him to lead Fordham's Athletic development efforts."
 
Kull comes to Fordham with over 14 years of experience in sports marketing, business development, higher education fundraising and athletic development. A graduate of Stony Brook University, he received his MBA from St. John's University, where he is also a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership.  He began his career in athletic sales, marketing, and promotions at St. John's, becoming Assistant Athletic Director before moving to the corporate world as a sports marketing manager representing the Powerade and Vitaminwater brands for the Glaceau and Coca-Cola companies. He returned to St. John's University in 2011 to serve in the President's Office as Chief of Staff for Athletics and Institutional Advancement, and ultimately, Acting Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
 
In his role as Acting Vice President for Institutional Advancement at St. John's, Kull was the driving force behind record-breaking revenue growth from 2013-2016. During the three-year period he held this position, St. John's experienced its third- and fourth- best revenue years in its history. The increase of major gifts under Kull's tenure supported and advanced St. John's educational mission, financial needs, and strategic planning.
 
Kull has also demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student-athletes. Under his stewardship at SJU, new revenue growth for the Athletic Department was substantial with a 40% growth and key large-scale Red Storm Athletics partnerships were built. Kull helped spearhead the negotiation of the Red Storm's existing athletic apparel deal with Under Armour, and helped form SJU's current venue contract with Madison Square Garden. Additionally, Kull played a pivotal role in facilitating the creation of the new BIG EAST Conference, as well helped identifying Fox Sports as the ideal media partner for St. John's Athletics and the Conference.
 
Kull currently serves as Senior Vice President at GENYOUth Foundation, responsible for business development for its NFL Fuel Up to Play 60, NFL Flag Football, and AdCap programs. This National Football League and National Dairy partnership impacts over 73k schools (K-12th) and over 38 million students throughout the country.
