Orlando, Fla. – The Fordham women's tennis team started their spring break trip on a high note defeating LIU Brooklyn 4-0 Monday afternoon.
Fordham opened the match taking the doubles point as
Carina Ma and
Estelle Wong defeated Sasha Bollweg and Isabella Wagener 6-3 in first doubles and
Maia Balce and
Gianna Insogna beat Jennifer Gogova and Malin Leysen 6-4 in second doubles.
Mayu Sato and
Alexis Zobeideh fell to Anna Grigoryan and Ana Leonte 6-3 in third doubles.
Despite a rain delay the Rams were able to close the match out in singles play as
Estelle Wong defeated Jennifer Gogova 6-3, 6-1 in second singles,
Gianna Insogna bested Ana Leonte 6-4, 6-0 in fifth singles and
Destiny Grunin defeated Isabella Wagener 6-2, 6-1 in sixth singles.
The Rams continue play in Orlando as they face Bryant University tomorrow afternoon.
