Four Men’s Track and Field Rams Honored by A-10

Petersen, Webber, & Kutch Named to All-Rookie Team, Cook Named to Academic All-Conference Team

Newport News, Va. – Three members of the Fordham men's track and field teams were honored by the Atlantic 10 conference on Wednesday as junior Brian Cook was named to the Academic All-Conference Team and freshmen Michael Petersen, Richard Webber, and Ryan Kutch were selected to the All-Rookie Team.

This is the first career Academic All-Conference award for Cook. To be nominated for Academic All-Conference honors, a player must be a starter or important reserve and have a cumulative 3.0 gpa or better (on a 4.0 scale) for his/her entire academic career.

Cook, a Public Accounting major, earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors by winning the mile run at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championship in a championship meet record time of 4:09.11 on February 19 at George Mason University. He also garnered First Team All-A-10 accolades with the winning 4x800 relay that won the race in a time of 7:38.91.

The All-Rookie Team is a new award this year with the teams comprised of the top rookie performer in each event from meets conducted from the start of the regular season through the Atlantic 10 Championships.
