Christian Sengfelder was named First Team Academic All-District, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, for his combined performances athletically and in the classroom it was announced today. He will now be placed on the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America
® consideration.
A Psychology major who compiled a perfect 4.00 GPA for the 2016 Fall semester, Sengfelder has started all 24 games for the Rams in 2016-2017. He is averaging 12.0 ppg and 4.5 rpg, both second best on the team. Sengfelder also leads the squad with 56 three-pointers made and has 20 steals and nine blocks. He is seventh in the Atlantic 10 in three-pointers made/game (2.3).
Over his career, Sengfelder has connected on 144 career three-pointers, the tenth best total in Fordham history.
First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America
® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in March.
