MAWPC Scholar-Athlete Story
Â
The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches and the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference have announced the men's All-Academic and Scholar-Athlete Awards, respectively, for the 2016 season, honoring seven Fordham student-athletes with at least a 3.2 GPA or higher.
Â
The Rams also garnered the team award from the MAWPC.
Â
The ACWPC, as well as the MAWPC, designates three types of All-Academic or Scholar-Athlete Awards as Outstanding (4.00-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41), and Excellent (3.40-3.20). Fordham's
Joseph Agabs was the lone student-athlete to earn "Outstanding" status, while six others,
Yuki Saito,
Ian Watson,
Ethan Vandeventer,
Will Smoot,
Jacob Alexander, and
Cole Donnelly, earned "Excellent" status.
Â
For Vandeventer, Alexander, and Smoot, this is the second consecutive year that they have been honored by both the MAWPC and ACWPC, while being the first time for Agabs, Saito, Watson, and Donnelly.
