Geneva, Ohio – The final day of the Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship has wrapped up at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
The women's competition saw Richmond win its seventh straight Atlantic 10 title with a score of 570 points, followed by Duquesne (498.5), Massachusetts (457), Fordham (432.5), Davidson (390), George Washington (309), George Mason (306.5), Saint Louis (194), Rhode Island (192.5), St. Bonaventure (187.5), and La Salle (151.5). For Fordham, the Rams finished up a spot from last year's finish.
The last day of the championship was another good one for the Rams, as 13 individuals scored, two made the podium, and one broke a school record.
The night of finals began with the 1650 freestyle, where
Chloe Mitchell and
Erin McBride both scored, finishing ninth (17:22.47) and 13
th (17:24.18), respectively.
Three swimmers made the finals of the 200 backstroke, led by
Catherine Alabanza, who took seventh in 2:01.95.
Morgan Fairclough was 12
th overall as a part of the "B" final in 2:01.16, while
Paulina Watson was 14
th in 2:02.69.
Fordham had two swimmers in the "B" final of the 100 freestyle event.
Tara Brunner won the "B" final for ninth overall in 51.10 seconds, with teammate
Samantha McDonald right behind her in tenth position in 51.44 seconds.

Next up was the 200 breaststroke, where Fordham once again had a pair of swimmers in the "B" final.
Nele Albers finished second in that race, good for tenth overall, as she broke the school record in a time of 2:18.08, bettering Nicole Marshall's mark of 2:18.33, set in 2010.
The final individual women's event of the championship was the 200 butterfly, where Fordham was once again the dominant force with four swimmers scoring in the event. Senior
Megan Polaha led the way, as she won her third Atlantic 10 event title in the 200 butterfly in an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:58.90.
Amelia Bullock placed second to earn Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in 2:00.75, followed by
Jacqueline Dominger in tenth (2:04.39) and
Kalena Laurent in 14
th (2:05.60).
The last event of the championship was the 400 freestyle relay, where Fordham's team of Brunner, McDonald, Bullock, and
Theresa Mullen took fifth in 3:24.08.
