Geneva, Ohio – Day two of the 2017 Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship has concluded at Spire Institute and the women's competition is tight at the top of the leaderboard.
Duquesne took over the top spot with 209 points with Richmond right on their heels with 189. Massachusetts is third with 178, followed by Davidson (167), Fordham (165.5), George Mason (105), George Washington (104), Saint Louis (89), Rhode Island (81.5), St. Bonaventure (76), and La Salle (72).
For Fordham, the Rams had seven individuals score on day two, while the final event of the day saw Fordham make the podium.
The night of finals began with the 500 freestyle, where the duo of
Paulina Watson and
Erin McBride scored in the "B" final. Watson won the "B" final to take ninth overall in a season-best time of 4:55.61, while McBride was 13
th overall in 4:59.71.
In the 200 individual medley event, Fordham had three swimmers in the finals, which began with
Marie Feneron winning the "B" final for ninth overall in 2:02.65, while
Amelia Bullock was 11
th in 2:03.54. In the championship final,
Megan Polaha looked to defend her 200 IM title, but came up a touch short, placing fifth in a season-best time of 2:01.35.

Next up was the 50 freestyle, where freshman Samanatha McDonald tied for sixth overall in the "A" final in a season-best time of 23.53 seconds, while sophomore
Tara Brunner finished 12
th in 23.87 seconds.
The final event on day two was the 200 freestyle relay, where Fordham made its second trip to the women's podium. The Rams' team of Brunner, McDonald, Bullock, and
Theresa Mullen earned bronze with a season-best time of 1:33.40.
Day three of the Championship begins at 10:00 AM on Friday with preliminaries, followed by the finals at 6:30 PM.
