Newark, N.J. – The Fordham women's tennis team picked up its second win in as many days as they defeated NJIT 6-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Rams started off well taking the doubles point as
Carina Ma and
Estelle Wong defeated Rafaella Sampaio and Mayan Eltony 6-4 and
Mayu Sato and
Alexis Zobeideh defeated Natacha Minc and Natalija Tasovac 6-3.
Maia Balce and
Gianna Insogna fell to Nathalie Habegger and Alba Rosas Garcia 6-3.

Fordham took that momentum into singles play where they took five of six matches.
Carina Ma got things started for the Rams defeating Rafaella Sampaio 6-4, 6-1 in first singles,
Estelle Wong bested Mayan Eltony in three sets 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in second singles and
Maia Balce also won a three set match against Nathalie Habegger 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. In fourth singles,
Mayu Sato defeated Alba Rosas Garcia 7-5, 6-4 and
Destiny Grunin beat Natalija Tasovac 6-1, 6-1 in sixth singles.
Gianna Insogna fell to Natacha Minc 6-3, 7-5.

The Rams return to action Friday February 17 as they host Hofstra at Life Time Athletic.
