Fordham Defeats La Salle 6-1

Harrison, N.Y. – The Fordham men's tennis team picked up its second straight win of the spring season, defeating conference foe La Salle 6-1 Saturday evening at Life Time Athletic.

The Rams started things off taking the doubles point as Tomas Cosmai and Allen Thornes defeated Francesco Mowrey and Tomas Murray 7-5 in first doubles and Joseph Kavaloski and Steven Duka defeated Patrick Pascual and Braden Ward 7-5. Victor Li and Jeremy Chung were tied 5-6 with Joe DiOrio and Brian Balico at third doubles when the match was halted.

In singles play, Tomas Cosmai defeated Francesco Mowrey 7-5, 7-6 (4) in first doubles, Victor Li beat Brian Bolico 6-0, 6-3 in second singles, Fabrian Mauritzson defeated Joe DiOrio 6-4, 6-1 in third singles, Allen Thornes defeated Patrick Pascual 6-2, 6-4 in fifth singles and in sixth singles Joseph Kavaloski bested Braden Ward 6-2, 7-6 (5). Jeremy Chung lost a three set match to Tomas Christian 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (5).

The Rams return to action February 17 ast they travel to Fairfield, CT to face Sacred Heart University.
