Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham women's soccer coach
Jessica Clinton announced the addition of six student-athletes for the upcoming 2017 season.
The list of players includes
Hope Baisley (Wilmette, IL/New Trier),
Crea Baker-Durante (Needham, Mass./Needham),
Saige Bingman (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire),
Milan Bornstein (Cranston, R.I./La Salle Academy),
Maura Holst (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Radnor), and
Charlotte Rossi (Westport, Conn./Staples).
Hope Baisley
"We are extremely excited to have this group join us for the 2017 season and are anxiously awaiting their arrival to Rose Hill. We have had a chance to see these players grow and develop over the course of the last few years and look forward to having them add their talents to our current team. This group will bring energy, passion and excitement to our style of play as we are expecting them to make an immediate impact. We have a talented incoming class and expect them to push our returning players who have been working hard in the offseason," said Clinton.
Crea Baker-Durante
Baisley, a 5-6 midfielder from Wilmette, Illinois, has played on the varsity soccer squad at New Trier High School, while playing club soccer for FC United '98 and coach Craig Snower. For FC United, she helped lead the team to a pair of USYSA State Championships in 2013 and 2015, while being a USYSA Midwest Regional finalist in 2016. The team also captured the High School State Championship three times from 2014-16. Academically, Baisley is a four-year honor roll student at New Trier.
Seeing time at both forward and defender, Baker-Durante is a four-year varsity soccer player at Needham High School in Massachusetts. A 2016 team captain, she twice earned Offensive and Team MVP honors for Needham and was a 2016 Bay State All-Star. In 2015, she helped Needham to a State Championship, scoring five goals in the tournament, including four game-winning goals. In addition to her play at Needham, Baker-Durante played club for NEFC-Boston Breakers Academy for coach Jack Abelson. She helped her team to two NPL National Championships (2015 & 2016), two US Club national finalist appearances, and three Massachusetts State Championships. Academically, she is a three-year honors student at Needham.
Saige Bingman
Bingman, a 5-8 midfielder from Cheshire, Connecticut, is a three-year varsity soccer player at Cheshire High School. She was the Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) Player of the Year, after netting 17 goals and eight assists as a senior. She also garnered First Team All-SCC, First Team All-Housatonic, All-State, All-New England, and All-Region honors. Bingman also received the 2016
New Haven Register All-Area MVP award, as well as the 2016 Greater New Haven Soccer Officials Association Outstanding Female Soccer Player Award. For club soccer, she played for CFC United ECNL under coaches Magnus Nilerud (2017), Richard Sutherland (2016) and Jim O'Brien (2013-16). Academically, Bingman is a four-year honor roll student,
Record Journal Scholar Athlete, and SCC All-Academic Team selection.
Milan Bornstein
Bornstein is a 5-5 midfielder from Cranston, Rhode Island, where she was a four-year varsity soccer player at La Salle Academy. A team captain as a senior, she was a 2016 NCSAA Cache's All-New England selection and a two-time Division 1 All-State pick, garnering First Team honors in 2016 and Second Team accolades in 2015. For club soccer, Bornstein played for the Bayside FC Bolts under coach Dave DeMello and captured two NPL State Championships in 2015 and 2016. Academically, she is a member of the National Honor Society, Italian National Honor Society, and the honor roll.
Maura Holst
A 5-6 midfielder from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, Holst was a four-year varsity soccer starter for Radnor High School, where she set the school record for career goals with 50 and helped the team to three playoff appearances. She was team captain as a senior, and earned her third Golden Boot Award for leading the team in goal scoring with 11, after netting 15 as a junior and a school record 19 as a sophomore. She earned First Team All-Central League honors three times (2014-16), First Team All-Delaware County accolades twice (2015-16), First Team All-Main Line twice (2015-16) and All-State honors once (2015). For club soccer, Holst played for Continental Football Club of the ECNL under coach Keith Cappo. She was a three-time team captain and helped the team to three ECNL playoff appearances (2014-16). In the classroom, Holst is a four-year honors student.
Charlotte Rossi
Rossi, a 5-7 forward from Westport, Connecticut, was a four-year varsity soccer starter at Staples High School and a two-year captain. She is a three-time All-FCIAC selection, garnering First Team honors as a senior, and helped Staples to the 2014 FCIAC Championship. For club soccer, Rossi played for CFC United with fellow recruit
Saige Bingman at the U18 level. Academically, she is a four-year honors student, a member of the National Honor Society, and a member of the Social Studies Honor Society. Rossi was also a part of Staples receiving the NSCAA High School Team Academic Award twice (2014-15).
