Baseball Announces 2018 Schedule

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham baseball head coach Kevin Leighton announced the team's 2018 schedule today.  It features 23 home games, non-conference weekend series in South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, and Maryland and match-ups with three NCAA teams from a year ago.
 
Except for 1944, the Fordham baseball program has played every year since 1859 and stands as the winningest program in NCAA history.  The Rams will be competing for their ninth Atlantic 10 Championship tournament berth in the last 15 years, in hopes of being at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship, May 23-26, which will be hosted at George Washington's Tucker Field at Barcroft Park in Arlington, Virginia.
 
Fordham kicks off the season on February 16^th in Spartanburg, South Carolina for the Wofford Round Robin Tournament.  It will mark Fordham's second trip to this tournament as the Rams did so in 2014 as well.  Fordham opens with Evansville on Friday, followed by games with Wofford and USC Upstate on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
 
The Rams' then head further south the next weekend to Tampa, Florida for a three-game series at South Florida, February 23-25.  The Bulls are one of three teams on Fordham's schedule to make the NCAA Tournament last year, along with Davidson and Yale.

 
The team will remain on the road the next two weekends, playing at James Madison, March 2-4, and at Coppin State, March 10-11.
 
After a month on the road, the Rams will have their home opener on Wednesday, March 14^th, against Wagner, which will be followed by a three-game home series with Cornell, March 17-18.

Other non-conference home games are scheduled against Manhattan (three games – Mar. 30-31), Saint Peter's (Apr. 4), Siena (Apr. 11), Fairfield (Apr. 17), and Hofstra (May 1), while the remaining non-league road games consist of match-ups at LIU Brooklyn (Mar. 7), Iona (Mar. 21), Saint Peter's (Mar. 27), Columbia (Apr. 18), and Yale (Apr. 25).
 
In conference play, Fordham's home series opponents will be against Rhode Island (April 6-8), George Washington (April 20-22), Dayton (May 4-6), and Richmond (May 17-19).  The Rams will make conference road trips to Davidson (Mar. 23-25), La Salle (April 13-15), Saint Joseph's (April 27-29), and Massachusetts (May 11-13).
