Bronx, N.Y. – (December 6, 2017) – After a month and a half of road meets, the Fordham swimming & diving teams finally had their home opening meet on Wednesday night, posting a sweep of Manhattan at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center. The Fordham women posted a 164-77 win while the men defeated the Jaspers, 156-85.
Four Rams won multiple events with three on the women's side.
Gabrielle Celia won the 50 (31.36) and 100 (1:08.70) breaststroke, while
Caitlin McNary captured the 50 backstroke (28.72) and the 500 freestyle (5:09.59).
Molly Dunn was the third multi-event winner for the women, as she took first in the one-meter (242.70) and three-meter (245.03) diving events.

Jacqueline Dominger (100 fly – 59.64),
Tara Brunner (50 free – 24.31),
Chloe Mitchell (100 free – 55.30),

Michelle Martin (50 fly – 26.50), and
Natalie Brown (100 IM – 1:01.65).
The men were led by
Kevin Berry, who won two events, placing first in the 50 (23.83) and 100 (53.30) butterfly events.

From there, 11 other Rams posted event wins, beginning with
Christopher Sleutjes taking first in the 1000 freestyle in 9:51.61. Other winners included

In relay action, the Rams took part in mixed relays with two men and two women in each relay. Fordham came out on top in both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relay. The 200 medley group featured Martin,
Travis Monahan,
Amelia Bullock, and
Joseph Vizza winning in 1:40.95, while the 200 freestyle relay team of Ramsay, Bullock,
Theresa Mullen, and Mercurio finished in 1:31.42.
The Fordham swimming & diving teams are now off until January 13
th when the Rams have their next road meet at Florida Atlantic, beginning at 11:00 AM.
