Newport News, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly track & field awards on Tuesday, with Fordham's
Jared Benn named Men's Track Performer of the Week and
Neve Devine earning Women's Field Performer of the Week honors.
It is the first weekly honor for Benn and Devine this season.
Devine cleared a career-best 1.65m (5'5") in the high jump at the Fordham Season Opener last week, good for a second place finish. The junior also finished third in the long jump with a leap of 5.26m (17'3.25") and 11th in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.18 seconds.
Benn also had a great start to the indoor season, winning the 500-meter dash at the Fordham Season Opener in 1:05.86, while taking third in the 60-meter dash in 7.08 seconds. The junior was also part of Fordham's "A" 4x400 relay that took first in a time of 3:25.70.
Benn, Devine and the rest of the Rams return to action on Thursday, December 7, when Fordham takes part in the Red Storm Invitational, hosted by St. John's at St. Anthony's High School.
