Bre Cavanaugh has been named this week's Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for her efforts during women's basketball's two victories this past week, part of their current three-game winning streak. The Rams defeated Manhattan on the road in midweek and downed Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon in the Bronx. This is Fordham's and Cavanaugh's first accolade this season. Cavanaugh was also named College Sports Madness' A-10 Player of the Week, as well.

After sitting out last year due to NCAA transfer policy, Cavanaugh has started all six contests thus far this season and has logged heavy minutes, averaging 38.3 minutes per game, which ranks 12
th in all of Division I. The Allamuchy, N.J. native has scored in double figures in every game and set new career-highs in both wins this past week, first delivering 16 points and seven rebounds at Manhattan, then stepping up in the absence of
G'mrice Davis against Pittsburgh to score a team-high 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Cavanaugh hit two threes in each contest, as well, and continues to convert her free-throw attempts at an excellent clip, 89.3%, while averaging at least three attempts in every contest. Her free throw rate ranks 37
th in the country.

For the week, Cavanaugh averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds across 39.0 minutes, while shooting 42.9% from the floor, 33.3% from downtown, and 90.0% from the line.

The Rams play twice more this week, first at Penn State on Wednesday night at 6 p.m., then against Iona at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. Wednesday night's contest will also be shown live on the Big Ten Network.
