Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham track and field teams kicked off the 2017-18 indoor season by hosting the Fordham Season Opener, a seven team compliance meet, at the Vincent T. Lombardi Center on Friday.
Fordham had eight wins tonight. Event winners included
Kathryn Kelly in the 300 meter dash (42.08),
Jennifer Boerke in the 500 meter dash (1:17.23),
Aidan Moroz in the 800 meter run (2:19.33),
Jared Benn in the 500 meter dash (1:05.86),
Nikolas Reardon in the high jump (1.96m) and in the long jump with an IC4A qualifying leap of 7.18m,
Ryan Riviere in a personal best 4.57m in the pole vault and both of Fordham's "A" 4x400 men's and women's relays won in times of 3:25.70 and 4:05.22, respectively.
Other top performers were Kelly and
Mary Kate Kenny who finished second and third in the 60m dash in times of 7.80 and 7.99, respectively,
Laura Jaeger who finished second in the 300 meter dash in 42.22 seconds while Kenny finished fourth (43.04),
Dana Beggins took fourth in the 500 meter dash in 1:19.50,
Leah Hickey and
Morgan Menzzasalma finished third and fourth in the 800 meter run in times of 2:22.90 and 2:24.44, respectively,
Brynna Harum placed fifth in the mile run in 5:21.63,
Germaine Harbaugh and
Maeve O'Connor took second and fourth in the 3,000 meter run in 11:07.47 and 11:16.37, respectively,
Anais Karagianni finished second in the 60m hurdles in 8.93 seconds,
Neve Devine finished second in the high jump in a college-best 1.65m and third in the long jump (5.26m) while
Sarinnagh Budris took fifth (5.22m) and
Adrianna Batista finished fourth in the weight throw (12.03m).
Top performers on the men's side included,
Anthony Misko, who finished second in the 500 meter dash (1:06.05),
Dylan Serino and
Byrne Cronin placed third and fourth in the 800 meter run in 2:03.43 and 2:04.01, respectively,
Patrick Donahue took third in the mile run (4:34.95),
Eric Cao finished third in the 60 meter hurdles (9.05),
Andrew Byrne placed second in the high jump (1.93m),
Patrick Sawyer and Henry Nouss tied for fourth in the pole vault with vaults of 3.96m, and Reardon and Byrne finished second and third in the triple jump with leaps of 13.34m and 11.89m, respectively.
The Rams return to action on December 7 at the Red Storm Invitational, hosted by St. John's. Events begin at 6:30 p.m.
