Fordham Game Notes

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University football Rams continue their 2017 Patriot League season, the 117th varsity season at Rose Hill, by hosting the Holy Cross Crusaders on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, November 4, at 1:00 p.m. as part of Homecoming Weekend.

The game will be streamed live by Stadium (Patriot League Network) with Matt Martucci (p-b-p) and Andy Gresh (color) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on WFUVsports.org with James Corrigan (p-b-p), Tommy Aldrich (color) and Dom Muscarella (sidelines) handling the announcing chores.

Fordham enters the game with a 3-6 overall record, 2-2 in the Patriot League, after a 45-35 league win over Lehigh on Jack Coffey Field last Saturday while Holy Cross is also 3-6 overall, 2-2 in the Patriot League, following a 24-10 league win over Georgetown in Worcester last week.

This will be the 55th meeting between Fordham and Holy Cross on the gridiron with the Crusaders leading the all-time series, which started in 1902, 27-25-2, but Fordham has won the past five meetings. The Rams won last year's meeting, 54-14, on November 12 in Yankee Stadium as
Chase Edmonds rushed for 119 yards and four scores, and
Kevin Anderson completed 28 of 34 passes for 426 yards and three touchdowns. The Rams lead the all-time Ram-Crusader Cup series, 16-15.

Senior running back
Chase Edmonds has amassed a school record 5,614 rushing yards to date. He needs just seven more yards to break Jordan Scott's Patriot League career record of 5,621, set from 2005-2008.

Edmonds also owns the Fordham and Patriot League career touchdown (70) and career rushing touchdown (63) records.

Kevin Anderson connected with
Austin Longi on a 12-yard scoring strike at Lafayette on October 7, his 70th career touchdown pass, a new school record. He surpassed the former record of 69 set by John Skelton (2006-2009). Anderson, who now has 73 career scoring strokes, has 1,716 passing yards so far this year brings his career mark to 7,623, third best in school history.

Glenn Cunningham were named the Corvias Patriot League Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, following the Lehigh game. In the 45-35 Patriot League win, Palladino rushed 31 times for 297 yards and three touchdowns, all career-highs. The 297 rushing yards are the most for a player on the NCAA FCS level this year and the third most in a game in school history. Cunningham led all Fordham defensive players with eleven solo tackles, including four sacks. The four sacks are the second most in a game for a player on the NCAA FCS level this year. He also forced a fumble, which he recovered, and had a pair of quarterback hurries.

Isaiah Searight set a school record for receiving yards by a tight end with 139 last week against Lehigh.

Austin Longi has 15 career receiving touchdowns, ninth all-time at Fordham.

No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 49 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Sacred Heart (36), Stony Brook (35) and Rutgers (32), while the NFL's Giants and Jets have 39 and 37 wins, respectively, each.
