Jonathan Dimon Named to Academic All-Patriot League Team

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University senior defensive lineman Jonathan Dimon was named to the 2017 Academic All-Patriot League team it was announced today.
 
It is the second academic honor of 2017 for Dimon, who was named first team CoSIDA Academic All-District® last week. He will now advance to the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.
 
Dimon, an Applied Accounting and Finance major with a 3.78 overall GPA, started all eleven games for the Rams this year at defensive end. He recorded eight tackles, five solo, including two for loss and one fumble, along with two fumble recoveries.
 
A walk-on his first three years at Fordham, Dimon was awarded a scholarship just prior to the start of the season.
 
To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.
