Austin Longi was named Corvias Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week, it was announced today. It is the first weekly award of the season for Longi.

In a 20-9 win over Bucknell on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, Longi returned a punt 90 yards for a score to give the Rams a 13-9 lead with 7:53 remaining in the game, breaking a Fordham and Patriot League record for longest punt return in the process. The former school mark was 85 yards by Len Eshmont in 1939 and the former league record was 89 yards by Jesse Boyd of Colgate in 1997.

Longi returned a total of five punts in the game for 106 yards and also caught two passes for 16 yards.

On the year Longi caught 38 passes for a team-high 478 yards and three touchdowns while also returning 13 punts for 163 yards (12.5 yards/return) and the one score.
