Lewisburg, Pa. - (November 19, 2017) - The Fordham Swimming and Diving team wrapped up competition at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday with the men's team finishing fourth of seven teams and the women's team finishing fourth out of eight teams.

Towson won the women's team competition with a total of 1545.5 points, followed by Bucknell (1322), Georgetown (1209.5), Fordham (1200), Old Dominion (612), La Salle (513), Binghamton (430) and Howard (15).

Highlighting the Fordham women's performance was sophomore Ameila Bullock, who won the 200 butterfly event in a career-best and NCAA "B" cut time of 1:58.66. She was one of five swimmers to score in the event, as Jacqueline Dominger came in seventh (2:05.76), followed by Bayley Frierson in 12th (2:05.58), Hannah McGee in 15th (2:07.83), and Catherine Alabanze in 17th (2:08.02).

For Frierson, it was her second scoring event on Sunday, as she also scored in the 1650 freestyle in sixth place in 17:14.33, right behind teammate Kate Magill in fifth place in 17:08.39. Chloe Mitchell also scored in the 1650 freestyle in 12th place (17:33.77), as did Erin McBride in 13th (17:34.62).

The next final was the 200 backstroke, where Alabanza and Paulina Watson went 1-2 in the "B" final for ninth and tenth overall, respectively, in 2:01.74 and 2:02.60.

In the 100 freestyle, six Rams scored in the event, led by Caitlin McNary in fifth place in a time of 51.27 seconds. Tara Brunner was two spots behind McNary in seventh overall in 51.76 with Michelle Martin in 11th (51.66), Theresa Mullen in 12th (51.68), Samantha McDonald in 13th (52.11), and McBride in 23rd (53.34).

The final individual event was the 200 breaststroke, where Nele Albers took fourth overall in 2:18.19, while Amie Ko was 17th in 2:25.30 and Katherine von der Lippe was 22nd in 2:27.39.

The last women's event was the 400 freestyle relay, where Fordham's group of McNary, Brunner, Martin, and Mullen placed second in 3:26.96.

Towson also captured the men's team title with 1321 points, followed by Georgetown (1214.5), La Salle (1083.5), Fordham (943), Old Dominion (860), Binghamton (725.5) and Bucknell (625.5).

The highlight of the day for Fordham came in the final event of the day in the 400 freestyle relay where Travis Monahan, Joe Mercurio, Jack Madigan, and Joseph Vizza won the event in 3:04.38.

All four freestyle relay members also scored in the 100 freestyle event, led by Vizza in second (45.32) and Mercurio in third (45.74). Monahan won the "B" final for ninth overall in 46.37 with Madigan in 20th in 47.49 seconds. Other 100 freestyle scorers included Bryce Bollesen in 22nd (47.70) and Auston Ramsey in 24th (50.76).

Ramsay was also Fordham's top finisher in the 200 backstroke, taking sixth overall in 1:51.37. He was joined in the scoring by Isiah Magsino in tenth (1:52.59), Ethan D'Arcangelo in 13th (1:56.11), Scott Stern in 17th (1:53.48) and John Dardis in 23rd (2;00.08).

Magsino was also a dual event scorer, as the top breaststroke finisher for Fordham in 13th overall in 2:08.46. The Rams also had Nathaniel Guenther in 17th (2:09.14), Sean Finlay in 21st (2:12.29), and Andrew Glockenmeier in 23rd (2:16.20).

Fordham have five other Rams score on the final day, led by Christopher Sleutjes, who was fourth in the 1650 freestyle in 15:56.48. Tommy Christensen was 11th in the 200 butterfly in 1:54.89, followed by Greg Lombana in 15th (1:57.32) and Manny Avila Garcia in 22nd (1:58.96) in that event. Christopher Craig was the last scorer, taking tenth in the three-meter diving event with a score of 231.25.

The Fordham swimming and diving teams will next be in action on Wednesday, December 6th, when they host Manhattan at the Messmore Aquatic Center at 6:00 PM.
