Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham University senior defensive lineman
Jonathan Dimon was named first team CoSIDA Academic All-District® it was announced today. He will now advance to the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America® honors.
Dimon, an Applied Accounting and Finance major with a 3.78 overall GPA, has started all ten games for the Rams this year at defensive end. He has six tackles, four solo, including one for loss, along with two fumble recoveries.
A walk-on his first three years at Fordham, Dimon was awarded a scholarship just prior to the start of the season.
To be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.30 GPA or better and appear in at least 50 percent of the teams' games.
The Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
