Bridgeport, Pa. – (November 14, 2017) - The CWPA's Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) weekly awards were released on Tuesday with Fordham sophomore driver
Jake Miller-Tolt (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) being selected as the league's Offensive Player of the Week, while senior goalkeeper
Alex Jahns (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) was named Defensive Player of the Week. It is Miller-Tolt's third award this season and the fourth weekly award of his career, while for Jahns, it is his third of the year and fifth of his career.
Both players were instrumental in Fordham's upset 7-4 win over then-#16 St. Francis Brooklyn last Thursday. It was Fordham's first win over the Terriers since 1988.
Miller-Tolt highlighted the Rams' offensive performance, scoring four times to go with an assist, while at the defensive end, Jahns made his final home match a special one, making a career-high 18 saves in the match, which included a penalty block.
Miller-Tolt, Jahns, and the rest of the Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Friday, November 17
th, as they begin their stay at the MAWPC Championship, held in Annapolis, Maryland. The Rams, who are seeded third, take on sixth-seeded Johns Hopkins at 7:30 PM.
