Newport News, Va. – (November 14, 2017) – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its weekly swimming & diving award on Tuesday, and Fordham freshman swimmer
Danny McGowan (Chicago, Illinois/Loyola Academy) was selected as the Men's Rookie of the Week. It is McGowan's first career weekly award.
McGowan helped Fordham to a 188-92 win at Fairfield this past Friday. Over the Stags' short course meter pool, he won the 800 SCM freestyle in 8:43.19, while helping the 200 SCM freestyle relay take the top time in 1:38.45. He also finished second in the 100 SCM freestyle in 54.06 seconds.
McGowan and the rest of the Rams will next be in action on November 17-19, as the team competes at the Bucknell Invitational.
