Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham freshman linebacker
Glenn Cunningham has been added to the 2017 STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award Watch List it was announced last week.

The Rice Award, named for the legendary Hall of Fame wide receiver, has been presented to the NCAA FCS Freshman of the Year since 2011. Two of the first three winners, running back Terrance West of Towson and wide receiver Cooper Kupp of Eastern Washington, have gone on to the NFL and 2014 winner, Fordham's own
Chase Edmonds, is looking to become the third.

On the year Cunningham is leading the Rams with 75 total tackles, 47 solo, including 7.5 for loss and 4.5 sacks. He also has an interception, two forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and nine quarterback hurries.

Cunningham ranks fifth in the Patriot League in tackles/game (8.3), tops among all freshmen, and is fifth in sacks and tenth in tackles for loss.

A national panel of over 150 sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries will vote on 20 finalists following the regular season.
