Amherst, N.Y. - The Fordham Cross Country teams competed at the 2017 NCAA Northeast Regionals at the Audubon Golf Course today where the women's team placed 22
nd out of 36 schools and the men's team placed 28
th out of 37 schools in frigid conditions.
The regional meets are comprised of a 6-kilometer race for the women and a 10-kilometer race for the men.
Stephanie Leo paced the women's team, finishing in 75
th place with a time of 23:11.5. Following Leo were Abigail Taylor (88
th – 23:21.1), Angelina Grebe (112
th – 23:33.3), Sydney Snow (150
th – 23:54.6), Kate McCormack (23:54.9) and Laurel Fisher (190
th – 24:40.9).
Senior
Thomas Slattery led the Ram men with a time of 34:14.9 and finishing in 106
th place. Crossing the line next for the Rams was
Fritz Heinrich (122
nd – 34:29.7), followed by Matthew Roma (163
rd – 35:00.2), Ryan Kutch (186
th – 35:40.3), Giancarlo Cipri (207
th – 36:04.6), Nicholas Raefski (218
th – 36:29.9) and
Brian Cook (223
rd – 36:43.7).
Next up for the Rams is the ECAC/IC4A Championship on Saturday November 18 at Van Cortlandt Park. Races begin at 10 a.m.
