Shelton, Conn. – The Fordham women's rowing squad kicked off the fall racing season at the Head of the Housatonic in Indian Well State Park on Saturday.
The Collegiate Women's 8+ event was the first of the day. The first varsity 8+ had a strong row and placed eleventh in the field of 23 with a time of 14:35.3. The second varsity 8+ raced in the same event finishing just 1 minute and two seconds behind the first boat with a time of 15:37.6.
Next up in the day was the Collegiate Novice Women's 8+. The novice women were able to apply some important technical changes they had been working on and finished second in their event with a time of 16:17.3, behind Boston University.
The final women's event of the day was the Collegiate Women's 4+. The Fordham women in the 4+ raced against a very competitive field to complete the course in 19:07.3.
The Rams will be back in action at the Hadley Chase on Saturday, October 14, in Hadley, Mass.
