Â
Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University football Rams continue their 2017 season, the 117th varsity season at Rose Hill, and open Patriot League play by traveling to Easton, Pa., to face the Lafayette College Leopards in Fisher Stadium on Saturday, October 7, at 3:30 p.m.
Â
The game will be streamed live on the Patriot League Network with Gary Laubach (p-b-p), Mike Joseph (color) and John Leone (sidelines) announcing and broadcast live on WFUV (90.7 FM) and on WFUVsports.org with James Corrigan (p-b-p) and Tommy Aldrich (color) handling the announcing chores.
Â
Fordham enters the game with a 1-4 overall record after a 41-10 loss to Yale University on Jack Coffey Field last Saturday while Lafayette is 1-4, 1-0 in the Patriot League, following a 10-7 league win at Holy Cross last week.
Â
This will be the 36th between Fordham and Lafayette on the gridiron with the Leopards leading the all-time series, which started in 1903, 22-12-1. The Rams have taken the past three meetings, including a 58-34 win on Jack Coffey Field last October as
Chase Edmonds rushed for a Patriot League record 359 yards and four touchdowns and
Kevin Anderson completed 12 of 18 passes for 181 yards and three scores.
Â
A few notes on the game:
Â
Senior quarterback
Kevin Anderson needs one touchdown pass to set a new Fordham career record. He enters the game with 69 scoring strikes, tying him with John Skelton for the career record. He tied his career-high with five touchdown passes last week at Bryant.
Â
Anderson has 7,102 career passing yards, third best in school history.
Â
The Fordham University football squad has not lost four straight games since the Rams lost the final three games of 2011, a streak of 66 games.
Â
The Fordham captains for 2017 will be
Manny Adeyeye,
Kevin Anderson,
Chase Edmonds, and
Caleb Ham.
Â
Senior running back
Chase Edmonds became the school's all-time leading rusher last year and enters the game with 5,483 career rushing yards. The 5,483 career yards places Edmonds second on the Patriot League career rushing list, 138 yards behind Jordan Scott's record of 5,621 yards.
Â
Edmonds also owns the Fordham and Patriot League career touchdown (70) and career rushing touchdown (63) records.
Â
The scout team players of the week were announced following practice on Thursday:
 Jake Trautman (offense for defense),
Cooper Weiss (defense for the offense) and
Dervin Hylton, Jr. (special teams).
Â
No New York area football team has won more games since 2012 than Fordham, who has amassed 47 victories over that stretch. The closest collegiate competitors are Sacred Heart (35) and Rutgers (30), while the NFL's Giants and Jets have 39 and 35 wins, respectively, each.
