Bronx, N.Y. – After 110 minutes of action, nothing was decided in Thursday night's Atlantic 10 women's soccer match between the Fordham Rams and St. Bonaventure Bonnies, as the teams played to a 0-0 draw at Jack Coffey Field.
The tie places Fordham's record at 5-5-4 overall, 2-2-1 in the Atlantic 10, while St. Bonaventure is now 0-11-3, 0-3-2 in the league.
Fordham took aim at St. Bonaventure goalkeeper Lauren Malcom early and often. After three stops by Malcolm, she needed a touch of defense help in the 29
th minute, as the ball found its way to Fordham's
Morgan Busacca in front with Malcolm out of position. Busacca's first shot attempt was blocked, while the second effort was stopped by a Bonnies' defender, keeping Fordham off the scoreboard.
At the other end, Fordham's
Kelly LaMorte made one stop in the 35
th minute, on a long effort from Marley Jarvis.
In the second half, Fordham put the Bonnies under pressure from the get go as
Natalie Sims fired a shot from the top of the box, but Malcom came up with a diving catch to the left side of the net for the save. The Bonnies had the next scoring chance on a corner kick by Danielle Viss that she put right at the feet of Fordham's backup netminder
Colleen Hickey, who was able to handle the ball without further danger.
Next, in the 53
rd minute, Fordham's
Amanda Miller came in on a 3-on-3 run, where she fired a shot just inside the right post, but Malcolm again was there for the diving denial.
The Rams continued the pressure a few minutes later, when
Juliana Mascelli put in an effort to the box that was punched right to
Clara Gastaldi, but her shot from 15 yards was stopped and cleared. After those chances, St. Bonaventure had the next one in the 68
th minute, when Bella May shot high to the left corner, but Hickey made a jumping catch to keep the Bonnies off the scoreboard.

Malcolm made two more saves over the final 20 minutes of action, pushing the game into overtime. In overtime, Malcolm was tested three times and came away with three stops. The best of those chances was
Saige Bingman in the 92
nd minute from 22 yards out, but Malcom made a diving save to the left side, while in the final seconds of the first ten-minute session, Busacca had a turnaround shot attempt that was caught by Malcolm at the right post.
The Rams had two corner kicks opportunities in the second overtime session, but could not record a shot, leaving the game as a scoreless draw.
In net, LaMorte and Hickey made one save each in the combined shutout for Fordham, while Malcom ended up with 13 saves for the Bonnies.
The Fordham women's soccer team will next be in action on Sunday, October 8
th, when the Rams travel to Richmond to face the Spiders at 1:00 PM.
