Rowing Competes at Head of the Charles

Boston, Mass. - Last Saturday the Fordham women's crew women competed at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River where the varsity 8 placed tenth.
 
The Rams had two entries in the Women's Club 4+ event and the varsity 8+ crew raced in the Women's Club 8+ event.
 

The varsity 8+ crew had a very solid row to place tenth in a field of 40.  They completed the course in 17:12.9, a full 18 seconds faster than conference competitors University of Rhode Island.  Their top tier finish has earned them a guaranteed entry for next year's competition.
 
Varsity 8+ Lineup: Cox: Olivia Herman Danae Ohresser-Joumard (8), Erin Parker (7), Cynthia Luz (6), Aleksa Bjornson (5), Anna Peterson (4), Caroline Hamann (3), Erin McGreevey (2) and Kat Napoli (1). 
 
In the Club 4+ event, the Fordham B crew had a fantastic row to turn the tables and finish in front of the Fordham A crew.  The B crew finished in a time of 20:00.1 to earn 25th place, and the A crew rowed a time of 20:07.0 to earn 29th place in the field of 53 crews.  The 4+ crew has also earned a guaranteed entry for the following year.
 
4+ A Lineup: Cox: Grace Molina, Kristen Shuman (4), Ariene Merkle (3), Caroline Roncinske (2), and Katie Dillon (1).
4+ B Lineup: Cox: Jackie Heffner, Julia Comerford (4), Sarah White (3), Erika Selakowski (2), and Heather Herbstritt (1).
 
This week the women's team will return to rowing 8+ lineups in preparation for the Head of the Schuykill regatta.  Fordham will demonstrate its depth by racing four 8+ crews.
