Joseph Chartouny was named third team preseason All-Atlantic 10 and to the conference's preseason all-defensive team in a vote of the conference coaches and media it was announced today at the annual media day held at the Capital One Arena, home of the 2018 Atlantic 10 men's basketball championship. It is the second consecutive year that Chartouny has been named third team preseason All-Atlantic 10.

Last winter, Chartouny averaged 12.1 ppg, second on the team, and 4.1 rpg in 29 games. He set the school single season steals record with 94 (former mark was 78) and he led the Atlantic 10 and was third in the NCAA in steals/game (3.24) and fifth in the nation in total steals.

Chartouny, who was named to the 2017 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, also finished the season ranked third in the in Atlantic 10 with 144 assists (5.0/game), 56th overall in the NCAA.

The 2016 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, Chartouny averaged 11.3 ppg, 5.3 rpg and 6.2 assists/game as a freshman. He led the Atlantic 10, and was 20th in the NCAA, in assists/game while he also led the conference in steals/game (2.2), ranking 16th in the NCAA, and was seventh in assist/turnover ratio (2.1). His 161 assists in 2015-2016 was a Fordham freshman record and is tied for fifth all-time for a Ram in a season, while his 6.2 apg average led all NCAA Division I freshmen.
