Bronx, N.Y. – It was a banner day for the Fordham cross country teams at the 2017 Metropolitan Cross Country Championship as senior
Thomas Slattery took home the individual title in the men's race.
Slattery completed the five mile course at Van Cortlandt Park in a course personal best time of 25:37.7. Right behind Slattery was sophomore
Ryan Kutch, who took second place in 25:45.0. Freshman
Nicholas Raefski also earned medalist honors with his time of 26:54.3, good for a 19
th place finish.
Also competing for the Rams were

Angelina Grebe
Rutgers won the men's team title with a score of 39, followed by Manhattan (53), Fordham (67), Marist (140), Seton Hall (147), Columbia (174), NJIT (176), NYU (208), NY Tech (267), LIU Post (316) and St. Francis (333).
Junior
Angelina Grebe was the top finisher for Fordham in the women's 5K, placing fourth in a time of 18:38.1. Also medaling for the Rams were
Sydney Snow who finished sixth in 18:49.0,
Stephanie Leo placed 13
th in 19:13.6,
Katarzyna Krzyzanowski took 15
th in 19:16.6 and
Kate McCormack finished 16
th in 19:18.3.
Crossing the line next for the Rams was
Laurel Fisher who finished 36
th in 20:07.3, followed by
Cristina Ulto (44
th - 20:25.3),
Blake Elwood (45
th – 20:25.5) and
Abigail Taylor (60
th – 21:01.7).
Rutgers won the women's team title with a score of 49, followed by Fordham (54), Rugers (83), Iona (118), Seton Hall (141), St. John's (151), Marist (162), NYU (218), LIU Post (291), LIU Brooklyn (309), NJIT (313), St. Francis (331), NY Tech (378) and Saint Peter's.
Some of the Rams will compete at Saturday's SJC Long Island Invitational with the Atlantic 10 Championship to follow on Saturday October 28 at George Mason University.
