New Haven, Conn. – The Fordham University golf team concluded play Sunday at the Macdonald Cup hosted by Yale at The Course at Yale, where the Rams finished 12
th in the team standings.
Leading the way for the Rams was senior
Joseph Trim who fired a one-under par 69 in round three for a three-round total of 216, good for a tie for ninth place. Also in action for the Rams were
Matt Schiller who closed with a 73 for a total score of 219, tying him for 17
th place,
James Mongey finished with a 78 for a total score of 233 and
Tomas Nieves closed with a 76 for a three-round score of 233, tying both golfers for 60
th place and
Josh Madarang fired a 76 in round three for a total score of 234, good for a tie for 66
th place.
Kyle Morris, competing as an individual, finished with a three-round total of 254 and finished in 78
th place.
The host Yale won the team championship with a total score of 852, followed by Stirling University (853), Harvard (874), Yale B (881), Princeton (884), Central Connecticut (884), Penn (885), St. Edward's (886), Dartmouth (888), Bucknell (891), Brown (895), Fordham (897), St. John's (906) and Fairfield (923).
The Rams return to action Saturday, October 7 at the Bucknell Invitational, hosted by Bucknell at the Bucknell University Golf Course.
