Staten Island, N.Y. – The Fordham Track & Field teams returned to competition on Friday when they traveled out to Staten Island to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the Wagner Invitational, hosted by Wagner College.

The highlight of the day on the men's side was
Brian Cook and
Thomas Slattery finishing back-to-back in the mile run, second and third, with times of 4:13.74 and 4:17.26 respectively. Cook's time was good for an IC4A qualifying time.
Following Cook and Slattery were
Ryan Kutch and
Sean Phillips who finished 14
th and 20
th with times of 4:25.23 and 4:28.93 respectively. Other strong finishes for the men included
Michael Petersen who finished second in the 500 meter dash with an IC4A qualifying time of 1:04.58 and
Andrew Byrne finished fourth in the high jump at 6' 2 ¼."

Jake Duckworth was the lone Ram competing in the 3,000 meter run, finishing in 12
th place with a time of 8:39.66. Other Rams competing were
Eddie Dehais (13
th – 51.84) in the 400 meter dash and
Fritz Heinrich (13
th – 2:00.00),
Sean Sullivan (17
th – 2:01.74) and
Nik O'Brien (30
th – 2:03.71) in the 800 meter run. Fordham's A 4x400 meter relay team finished second in Section 2.

On the women's side,
Merissa Wright earned the top finish for the Rams placing fourth in the 500 meter dash with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:15.82. Wright was followed by
Aidan Moroz (19
th – 1:19.60) and
Leah Hickey (21
st - 1:20.73). Other highlights for the Fordham women were
Morgan Menzzasalma who finished sixth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.06,
Sydney Snow,
Kaia Corthell and
Kate McCormack who finished sixth, 11
th and 12
th in the 800 meter run with times of 2:20.66, 2:22.56 and 2:23.82 respectively and
Mary Kate Kenny and
Nkeka Pinheiro who finished seventh and 13
th in the 200 meter dash with times of 25.78 and 26.20 respectively.

th – 11:28.97) in the 3,000 meter run,
Blake Elwood and

nd in the 800 meter run with respective times of 2:26.78 and 2:27.37,
Rebecca Estrella finished 24
th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.17 and
Laurel Fisher (21
st – 5:18.02),
Stephanie Leo (25
th – 5:20.27) and
Brianne Roche (34
th – 5:29.89) in the mile. Fordham's A 4x400 meter relay team finished 5
th in Section 2.

In the women's field events,
Gabriella Gavalas,
Gabrielle Schreib and
Genesis Amancio finished ninth, 25
th and 26
th in the long jump with jumps of 17' 2", 15' 9 ¾" and 15' 9" respectively and in the triple jump,
Alina Kwiatkowski finished in 15
th place with a jump of 34' 4 ¼" while Gavalas jumped 33' 1 ¼".

The Rams return to action on Friday January 13 when they host the Fordham Invitational at the Lombardi Center Field House. Events begin at 10 a.m.
