Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham University graduate student guard
Javontae Hawkins (Flint, Mich./Huntington Prep/Eastern Kentucky) was named Atlantic 10 men's basketball co-player of the week it was announced by the conference today. He shares the award with George Mason's Marquise Moore.

Hawkins led the Rams to a pair of wins on the week, a 69-67 overtime victory over VCU on Wednesday in the Rose Hill Gym and a 71-68 win at Massachusetts on Saturday. He opened the week by scoring a game-high 22 points, shooting 8-for-14 from the field, and adding six rebounds and two assist in the VCU win and then netted 18 points and grabbed four boards at UMass.

On the week, Hawkins averaged 20.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg and added three assists and two steals while shooting .583 (14-24) from the field and .429 (3-7) from behind the arc.

On the season, Hawkins is averaging 14.4 ppg and 5.1 rpg, both team highs. He also has 15 assists and 18 steals.

Fordham (9-11, 3-4 A-10) returns to action on Saturday, January 28, as they host the Davidson College Wildcats for an Atlantic 10 game in the Rose Hill Gym at 12:00 p.m.
