Max Roberts Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham freshman linebacker Max Roberts was named Corvias Patriot League Rookie Player of the Week as well as Honorable Mention STATS FCS National Rookie of the Week, it was announced today. It is the first weekly honor of 2016 for Roberts and the third for the Rams.
 
In a 31-17 Homecoming win over Penn on Jack Coffey Field on Saturday, Roberts recorded ten total tackles, five solo, including three sacks. He also forced two fumbles, both of which were recovered by the Rams, and he had two quarterback hurries.
 
On the season Roberts is tied for second on the team with 16 total tackles, nine solo, including four for loss and three sacks. He has also forced three fumbles and has two quarterback hurries.
 
The Rams (2-1) return to action on Saturday, October 1, as they travel to West Long Branch, N.J., to face the Monmouth University Hawks at 1:00 p.m.
