Cross Country Competes at Coast-To-Coast Battle in Beantown

Men Finish 9th, Women Take 10th Place

Boston, Mass.

The Fordham Cross Country teams competed at the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown in Boston, Mass. on Friday afternoon. Brian Cook paced the men's team with a career best time of 24:48, finishing in 14th place over the 8K course, while the women were led by sophomore Angelina Grebe and her season-best 18:30 time, good for a 38th place finish in the 5K.

Arkansas' Alex George won the individual men's title with a time of 24:09. Cook was followed by junior Thomas Slattery (27th-25:14), junior Louis Santelli (59th-26:11), freshman Ryan Kutch (85th-26:44), junior Nik O'Brien (92nd-26:51), sophomore Devin Rocks (97th-27:00) and senior Jake Duckworth (114th-27:38).

Dartmouth finished first as a team with a score of 40 followed by Providence (50), Arkansas (61), Brown (93), Maine (183), UMass Amherst (206), UMass Lowell (236), Boston College (238), Fordham (260), High Point (278), New Hampshire (286), Vermont (299), Rhode Island (394), Northeastern (401) and Hartford (449).

For the women, New Hampshire's Elinor Purrier won the individual race with a time of 17:06. Grebe led the Rams for the second consecutive week, helping Fordham to a 10th place finish out of 13 teams. Grebe was followed by junior Stephanie Leo (67th-19:05), sophomore Kate McCormack (79th-19:19), freshman Sydney Snow (80th-19:20), senior Cristina Ulto (82nd-19:22) and senior Shanna Heaney (97th-19:57).

Providence finished first as a team with a score of 25 followed by Dartmouth (79), Brown (103), Boston College (112), UMass Lowell (118), New Hampshire (132), Vermont (184), UMass Amherst (209), Northeastern (252), Fordham (308), Rhode Island (322), Maine (372) and Harford (374).
