Simsbury, Conn. – The Fordham University golf squad completed its first match of the fall today by taking fifth at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate at Hop Meadow Country Club.

Bryant won the team title with a 36-hole score of 578, followed by Wagner (592), Central Connecticut (593), Manhattan (594) and Fordham (596).

Matthew Schiller was the top finisher for the Rams, carding a one-under 71 on day two to go with his one-over 73 in the first round for an even-par 144, placing him in a three-way tie for second, four strokes behind event winner Ryan Tombs of Bryant. The two-round score matches a career-low that the junior initally set nearly a year ago to the day at this same tournament.

After a first day career-best two-under 70,
Joseph Trim turned in a 75 today for a 145 total to tie a two-round career-low, one stroke behind Schiller, and good for solo fifth, while
Thomas Hayes shot a 78 today to go with his 76 from Saturday for a 154 total, tying him for 39th.

James Mongey was a stroke behind Hayes, shooting a 77 and 78 for a 155 total, good for a tie for 44th, while
Oscar Cabanas was a stroke behind Mongey with a 156 (80-76), tying him for 47th.

The Rams return to action on Monday, September 19, as they open play at the Quechee Invitational hosted by Dartmouth College at the Quechee Golf Club in Quechee, Vermont.
