Fordham men's soccer head coach
Jim McElderry announced the additions of two more players to this year's recruiting class,
Tim Steuk (Brandenburg, Germany/Lausitzer) and
Joergen Oland (Drammen, Norway/Drammen Toppidrett).
Steuk and Oland join a recruiting class that included transfer student
Cole Stevenson (Leawood, Kans./Rockhurst (Denver)),
Connor DeFilippis (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa),
Bart Dziedzic (Darien, Conn./Darien),
Dantae Greer (Fair Lawn, N.J./Fair Lawn),
Michael Helgesen (Suffern, N.Y./Don Bosco Prep),
Matthew McCann (Potomac, Md./Gonzaga College HS), and
Nicholas Meyer (Manasquan, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy).
"We are happy to welcome Joergen and Tim into the Fordham program," said McElderry. "Joergen is an athletic center back who can play out of the back, but also enjoys defending. Tim is a deep lying midfielder who is technically very good and can read the game well."
Playing overseas in Germany, Steuk, a 6-3 midfielder, joins fellow German countrymen
Jannik Loebe and
Janos Loebe on the Fordham men's soccer squad. He is a graduate of Lausitzer Sportschule in Cottbus, Germany. He played for FC Energie Cottbus in the U19 Bundesliga, where he served as team captain. He earned All-League selections from 2012-15.
Playing in Norway, Oland, a 6-2 defender, joins fellow Norwegian
Ole Sandnes on the men's soccer team. A Graduate of Drammen Toppidrett in Drammen, Norway, he played club soccer for Stromsgodset TF, serving as team captain. He helped Stromsgodset to the U19 Norway Junior League Finals in 2015.
"Both Joergen and Tim have played at a high level, know how to compete day in and day out and therefore I am confident they will both make a smooth transition to the college game. We could not be happier about these two players coming to Fordham University."
