Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham volleyball head coach
Gini Ullery announced the team's 2016 schedule today. The schedule feature four tournaments and 11 home matches.
Fordham begins 2016 in Connecticut at the Blue Devil Classic, hosted by Central Connecticut State on August 26-27. The Rams start the tournament against Lehigh on the 26
th, followed by matches against Iona and host CCSU on the 27
th.
The Rams then have their home opener at the Rose Hill Gym on August 31
st against Manhattan College in the Battle of the Bronx.
Fordham's second tournament is a split tournament between Rose Hill and St. Francis Brooklyn on September 2-3. On September 2
nd, the Terrier/Rose Hill Classic starts in Brooklyn with NJIT taking on Quinnipiac and Fordham taking on St. Francis Brooklyn. The next day, the action moves to the Bronx for the final four matches of the round robin tournament.
Fordham will also participate in tournaments at Northeastern (Sept. 9-10) and Columbia (Sept. 16-17). The Northeastern tournament will feature matches against Northeastern, Binghamton, and Presbyterian, while the Columbia tournament has matches against Hartford, Providence, and Columbia.
Between the Northeastern and Columbia tournaments, Fordham will have one of its remaining eight home matches against Saint Peter's on September 14
th. The rest of the home matches are all Atlantic 10 matches against La Salle (Sept. 23), Duquesne (Sept. 25), Saint Louis (Oct. 7), Dayton (Oct. 8), George Mason (Nov. 4), George Washington (Nov. 6), and Rhode Island (Nov. 12). The home match against George Mason on November 4
th is set to be a special one, as Fordham will host a Kids' Day match at noon, inviting local school children to the match.
The Rams round out the schedule with eight road matches against Stony Brook (Sept. 20), George Washington (Sept. 30), George Mason (Oct. 1), Duquesne (Oct. 14), La Salle (Oct. 16), Rhode Island (Oct. 22), VCU (Oct. 28), and Davidson (Oct. 30).
The season concludes at the 2016 Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held November 18-20 at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri.
