Women’s Rowing Welcomes Ten to the 2016-2017 Roster

New group ready to join Ram rowers

Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham University Women's Rowing squad will add ten new recruits to the roster in September after graduating four this past June. This recruiting class includes nine domestic students and one international student. Over 50% of the group will have competed in their national championship at least once throughout their high school career.
 
"The 2015 recruiting class was the fastest class the history of Women's Rowing at Fordham" Head Coach Ted Bonanno said. "I'm pleased to announce that the 2016 recruiting class is even faster than the group we had in 2015."
 
The recruiting class of 2015 was comprised of 14 student-athletes and included 12 rowers and two coxswains. The 2016 recruiting class will include eight rowers and two coxswains.
 
"We are looking forward to another great year for Fordham Rowing. We know that our new recruits will make a great contribution to our team in the upcoming seasons" Bonnano said.

Julia Comerford - Wyndmoor, Pa. / Mount Saint Joseph Academy
 
Julia started rowing at the Mount during her sophomore year. In her first year, she placed 2nd in the Novice 8+ at the 2014 PSRA City Championships. During her junior year and senior year, Julia competed in the Lightweight 8+ that won the SRAA National Championship (Gold 2016, Silver 2015), the Stotesbury Cup Regatta (Gold 2016 and 2015), the PSRA City Championship (Gold 2016 and 2015), the USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship (Gold 2016 and 2015), and the Saratoga Invitational (Silver 2016, Gold 2015), and raced at the USRowing Youth National Championship in 2016 (10th overall) and 2015 (4th overall).  Julia also stroked the 2V8+ that won the 2015 Head of the Schuylkill and was a semifinalist in the Varsity 4+ at the 2015 Henley Women's Regatta in England. In the Fall of 2015, Julia stroked the 2V8+ at the Head of the Charles placing 16th out of 85 entries. Additionally, Julia was an accomplished swimmer for the Mount, helping the team to its first AACA Conference championship in 12 years and qualifying for District Championships 3 years in a row. She was named captain of her team for the 2015-2016 season and holds multiple club team records.
 
Isabella Crisci - Newburgh, N.Y. / Newburgh Free Academy
 
Isabella started coxing for her high school, Newburgh Free Academy, during her freshman year. As a freshman, she coxed the Lightweight 4+ that placed third in the Hudson Valley Rowing League (HVRL) Championship. She was named the 2012-2013 Novice Coxswain of the Year. She started coxing the Varsity 8+ as a sophomore, which placed first in the Orange Ulster Championship and second in the HVRL Championship, and was named Coxswain of the Year for the second year in a row. Crisci was named captain her senior year and led the Girls Varsity 4+ to an undefeated season in the Hudson Valley Rowing League and a championship title. The Girls Varsity 4+ went on to place 12th out of 42 entries at the 2016 New York State Scholastic Rowing Association Championship. She also served as the head varsity coxswain for Orange County Rowing Association and has coxed for the youth development program, the masters program, and both the boys and girls varsity teams.
 
Megan Drohan - Kennett Square, Pa. / Unionville High School
 
Megan started rowing as a sophomore with Unionville High School and won her Novice 4+ at the 2014 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship. She began competing with Wilmington Youth Rowing Association during her junior year where she won the 2015 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship in the Second Varsity 8+.  As a senior, Megan was part of the crew that raced in the Varsity 4+ at the 2015 Head of the Charles and later went on to win the 2V4+ at the 2016 Baltimore Invitational. Additionally, Megan has been a competitive swimmer for twelve years and is a four-year varsity letter holder for Unionville High School Swimming. She was a three-time qualifier in Pennsylvania District 1 High School Swimming Championships.
 
Jordan Glenn - Jacksonville, Fla. / Episcopal School of Jacksonville
 
Jordan began rowing her sophomore year at San Diego Rowing Club under the direction of US Olympian Susan Francia.  In 2014, she was part of the crew that placed eighth in the Women's Youth 4+ at Head of the Charles.  She moved her senior year to Jacksonville, Florida, and began rowing with her high school team, the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Jordan was a member of the Varsity 4+ that placed third at the 2016 FSRA Sweep Championships.  As a senior, she was named captain of her team in Florida and later won MVP of the 2015-2016 season. She also received the 2016 Hammer Award for having the fastest 2k on the team. 
 
Grace Little - North Wales, Pa. / Mount Saint Joseph Academy
 
Grace started rowing for the Mount in her freshman year. In her first year of rowing, she stroked the Freshman 4+ that won the 2013 PSRA City Championship. As a sophomore, Grace competed in the Lightweight  4+ that placed second at the 2014 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship, qualifying them for the USRowing Youth National Championship in Sacramento, Calif. In the fall of her junior year, Grace, was selected to be an alternate for her team at the 2014 Head of the Charles. She raced in the lightweight 4+ again in the spring of 2015 and placed third at 2015 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship, qualifying for the 2015 USRowing Youth National Championship. As a senior, Grace finished up her high school rowing career as a member of the Second Varsity 8+ that went on to place first at the 2016 PSRA City Championships and third at the 2016 Stotesbury Cup Regatta.
 
Lindsey Maiale - East Norriton, Pa. / Mount Saint Joseph Academy
 
Lindsey began coxing for the Mount during her freshman year. During her first year, she coxed the Freshman 8+ that won the PSRA City Championships, placed second at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, and placed fifth at 2013 SRAA National Championship. She also received Mount Crew's 2012-2013 Rookie of the Year Award. As a junior, Lindsey coxed the Lightweight 8+ that won gold medals at the Saratoga Invitational Regatta, 2015 PSRA City Championships, and the Stotesbury Cup Regatta. Later that year, her Lightweight 8+ placed second at the 2015 Scholastic National Championship and fourth at 2015 USRowing Youth Nationals. In her final year with the Mount, Lindsey coxed the Varsity 8+ and finished her Mount Crew career with a gold medal at the 2015 PSRA City Championships, a bronze medal at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, a fourth place finish at the 2016 SRAA National Championship, and was a semifinalist at the 2016 USRowing Youth National Championship. She was the first coxswain to win the "Most Valuable Oarswoman Award" for the Mount during her senior year.
 
Erin McGreevey - Flourtown, Pa. / Mount Saint Joseph Academy
 
Erin began rowing at the Mount during her freshman year. As a novice, she was undefeated for the entirety of her first season. As a sophomore, she placed first in the JV4+ at the King's Head regatta. In the spring of 2013, Erin finished first and third at the Saratoga Invitational and placed second in the Lightweight 8+ at the SRAA National Championship and 2014 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship. As a junior, Erin stroked the Lightweight 8+ and placed first and third at the Saratoga Invitational, first at the 2015 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship (qualifying for Youth Nationals), first at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta and seconnd at the SRAA National Championship. That year, the Lightweight 8+ placed fourth at the 2015 USRowing Youth National Championships. Erin was also a semifinalist in the Varsity 4+ event at the 2015 Women's Henley Regatta.  In her final year with the Mount, Erin competed in the Varsity 8+ that placed second at the Head of the Schuykill, third at the Saratoga Invitational, second at the 2016 USRowing Mid-Atlantic Youth Championship, thirrd at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta, first at the 2016 PSRA City Championship and was a semi-finalist at the 2016 Youth National Championships. Additionally, Erin was named the 2014-2015 Most Valuable Oarsman and 2015-2016 Team Captain.
 
Danae Ohresser-Joumard - Manosque, Fance / Ecole Internationale de Provence Alpes Cote D'Azur à Manosque
 
Danae started rowing in 2011 for the Manosque Rowing club in France. She competed in the French Nationals in the single and double sculls as well as in pairs in the junior national selection several times. She finished sixth in the 2012 National championships in the Women's 1X category and was semi-finalist in 2015 in the 2X category. In her final year of her junior career, she participated in the French Cup in the 4X category, placing fourth overall. Danae recently won the south-east qualification regatta in the Junior 2X, qualifying her for the Nationals this summer in 2016.
 
Victoria Radman - Manhasset, N.Y./ Manhasset High School
 
Victoria started rowing in 2013 as a freshman at Manhasset High School. In the fall of 2013, she competed as a novice and had an undefeated novice season. Later that spring, she placed second at the New York State Championship, second at the SRAA National Championship and second at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta.  Victoria rowed in the Women's Youth 8+ at the Head of the Charles in 2013, 2014 and 2015. As a sophomore, she placed second at the New York State Scholastic Rowing Association Championships and was a semi-finalist at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta and SRAA National Championship. In the spring of 2015, she was part of two crews (Varsity 8 and Varsity 4) that won the Long Island Junior Rowing Championship and the New York State Scholastic Rowing Association Championship. As a junior, she placed second at the 2015 Stotesbury Cup Regatta and third at the SRAA National Championship and qualified for the 2015 USRowing Youth National Championship. In her senior year, Radman was appointed captain of the Varsity squad. Additionally, she has been a member of Manhasset's basketball team all throughout high school.
 
Erika Selakowski - Livonia, Mich./ Ladywood High School
 
Erika started rowing in her senior year and is currently training with the Wyandotte Boat Club. She was a four-year starter and team captain on the varsity softball team, and played in both the State Semi-Finals and State Finals in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. She received All-State Honors was a Scholar-Athlete for all four year of her high school career. Additionally, Erika was selected to be a member of the 2016 State All-Star Team. She also was a member served as a captain of the varsity basketball team at Ladywood.
