New Haven, Conn. – The Fordham University golf team started a busy four days with a tenth place finish at the Yale Spring Invitational at The Course at Yale on Saturday.

The Rams 36-hole team score of 624 was three strokes better than Fairfield. Fordham shot a 307 on the first 18 and a 317 on the second. Yale B won the invitational with a team score of 594 followed by Bucknell (595), Dartmouth (596), Yale A (597) and Cornell (606).

Matt Schiller was the top Fordham finisher, carding a five-over 75 in both rounds for a 150 total, tying him for 12th overall.

Tommy Hayes was the second Ram finisher, scoring a 77 in round one and a 79 in round two for a 156, tying him for 39th, while
Joseph Trim was one stroke behind Hayes, turning in a 78 and a 79 for a 157 total, tying him for 42nd.

Fernando Morett was fourth for Fordham with a 79-81-160, tying him for 51
st.

James Mongey (79-84-183),
Josh Madarang (77-88-165) and
Oscar Cabanas (82-83-165) also competed for the Rams.

Fordham will now travel up to Rhode Island for a practice round on Sunday before competing in the Rhode Island Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Quidnessett County Club in North Kingston, R.I.
