Hempstead, N.Y. – The Fordham women's tennis team rebounded from a 7-0 home defeat on Wednesday with a 5-2 victory over nearby Hofstra on Thursday afternoon, with four different players all notching both singles and doubles wins. With the win, the Rams move into double-digit victories and sit at 10-5 on the season, while the Pride fall to 10-6 overall.

Doubles action went down in order and needed the rubber match to award the visitors the point.
Mayu Sato and
Estelle Wong defeated Sarah Bowen and Carmen Pestano, 6-1, before Sarah Herndon and Michal Kaplan dropped
Gianna Insogna and
Whitney Weisberg by the same score. The tandem of
Alexis Zobeideh and
Destiny Grunin, losers of two straight after going 6-2 to start the spring, won their seventh doubles contest as a pair with a 6-4 decision of Disha Yellayi and Giulia Leone.

Hofstra picked up two singles wins, at the fifth and sixth positions, before Fordham rattled off four straight victories to seal the 5-2 victory.

Sato's 6-3, 6-4 win over Bowen was the first to finish, followed by Grunin's 6-3, 6-2 victory over Pestano, and
Estelle Wong clinched the match with a 6-3, 7-5 defeat of Kaplan in #2 singles.
Alexis Zobeideh also won, 6-4, 6-3, over Herndon.

The Rams have now alternated three wins and three losses over their last six contests and now return home to host both NYIT and Massachusetts this weekend on the Hawthorn/Rooney courts on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. Saturday's match against NYIT is set to begin at 1 p.m.
