Charlottesville, Va. – The Fordham men's tennis team's (14-7) season is over after it lost to #6 seed Saint Joseph's, 4-0, at the Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va. on Thursday afternoon in the 2016 Atlantic 10 tournament. The Rams entered as the #11 seed. The loss is just the second in Fordham's last 12 matches dating back to mid-March.

The Hawks snatched the doubles point with victories in the second and third positions. Andreas Urrea and Peter Dewitt downed
Tomas Cosmai and
Joseph Kavaloski, 6-2, after
Victor Li and
Cameron Posillico fell, 6-0, to Kyle Chalmers and Tristan Boustany.
Pedro Alonso and
Nick Borak were tied up at 3-3 against Renier Moolman and Dan Tan when the Hawks clinched the point.

In singles action, Saint Joseph's grabbed victories in #5 and #6 singles to pull within a point of moving on in the Atlantic 10 tournament. Posillico was defeated, 6-0, 6-2, by Kevin Gates before Kavaloski was felled by Andre Fick, 6-1, 7-5. Chalmers clinched advancement with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Alonso in the third spot.

Elsewhere, Cosmai was up 6-2, 6-6, in his match with Moolman in #1 singles, Li was up in the third set against Urrea, 2-6, 6-3, 4-2, and
Nick Borak was leading by a point in a second set tie break, 6-3, 6-6 (7-8), when the match was called.
