Spring Sport Special Events Begin This Weekend

As the calendar heads toward the final weeks of April and the weather continues to improve, a number of spring sports events get started this weekend at Fordham's Rose Hill Campus.
 
Here is a description of what's in store for the final month for Fordham Athletics' action:
 
Women's Tennis
 
Saturday, April 16^th – Alumni Day
Fordham women's tennis welcomes their alumni back to the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts as the current Rams take on the NYIT Bears at 1:00 PM.  Following the match, there will be a post-match reception at the tennis house.  If you have not RSVP'd, contact Julio Diaz at diazjr@fordham.edu.

 
Softball
 
Saturday, April 16^th – Alumni Day
Fordham softball welcomes their alumni back to Bahoshy Field as the current Rams take on the Saint Louis Billikens in an Atlantic 10 doubleheader, starting at noon.  Following the match, there will be a post-match reception at the field.  If you have not RSVP'd, contact Julio Diaz at diazjr@fordham.edu.
 
Sunday, April 17^th – Youth Softball Day
Fordham softball will host Youth Softball Day at Bahoshy Field, where they invite all youth softball leagues and teams to attend the Rams' game against Saint Louis, starting at noon.  Admission is FREE for any teams or families that wish to attend.  Gameday activities include being on-field for the National Anthem*, Softball BINGO!, team poster giveaways, and a post-game autograph session with the team.  Register now for the event or contact Anne Slattery at aslattery1@fordham.edu or 718-817-0445.

* In order to go on the field for the anthem, players need to arrive by 11:30 a.m.
 
Saturday, May 7^th – Senior Day
 Come out and support the Fordham softball team on Senior Day, when the Rams play host to the George Mason Patriots for an Atlantic 10 doubleheader, beginning at noon.  Ceremonies to honor the Rams' senior class will take place between games.
 
Baseball
 
Tuesday, April 19^th – Vs. Cancer Fundraiser
For the second straight year, the Fordham baseball team is holding a fundraiser for the Vs. Cancer Foundation to Cure Kids' Cancer in conjunction with their 6:00 PM game against Fairfield at Houlihan Park. Members of the team will be shaving their heads after the game to support the cause.  The Rams hope to beat their mark of over $14,000 raised last year. Friday, May 6^th – Little League Night
Register now for Little League Night and join the Fordham baseball team for a free pre-game clinic before going on the field for the National Anthem, prior to the Rams taking on the George Washington Colonials at 6:00 PM. Fans will have the chance to play Baseball BINGO!, get a free team poster, and meet the team after the game for autographs. The clinic begins at 4:30 p.m. for all participants. Sign up now!
 
Saturday, May 7^th – Alumni Day
Fordham baseball welcomes their alumni back to Houlihan Park as the current Rams take on the George Washington Colonials, starting at 2:00 PM.  To RSVP, contact Tony Mellaci at amellaci@fordham.edu.
 
Thursday, May 19^th & Friday, May 20^th – Field Trip Days/Senior Day
All local elementary schools are invited to join the Fordham baseball team for a pair of special mid-day matinees against the Dayton Flyers on both May 19^th & 20^th.  Contact Kim Mallow at kmallow@fordham.edu to find out how your school can attend.  Friday, May 20^th, will also be Senior Day for the Rams, as the team honors its senior class prior to the game.
