Men's Tennis Tallies Fourth Straight Win, 6-1, Over Yeshiva

Rams Have Won Five of Last Six

Box Score

Harrison, N.Y. – The Fordham men's tennis team has strung together four wins in a row with its last result – a 6-1 victory over Yeshiva University at Life Time Athletic Center on Friday afternoon. The Rams moved the match indoors due to incoming inclement weather in the Bronx. With the result, Fordham moves to 8-5 on the season with wins in five of its last six, while the Maccabees fall to 5-2 overall.

The Rams won the doubles point to begin the day with straight victories in #3 and #2 doubles, with first doubles left unfinished at 5-5. Cameron Posillico and Harris Durkovic teamed up for the second time this season and notched their first victory, 6-2, over Daron Greenblatt and Charlie Friedman. Nick Borak and Pedro Alonso, like their teammates, paired up for just the second time this year and recorded a 6-3 win over Dmitri Lebedyev and Eitan Rudansky.

Joseph Kavaloski, at the fourth position, sped to the day's first singles victory, 6-2, 6-3, over Friedman, to mark his fourth straight solo victory. Durkovic was next with a straight sweep, 6-0, 6-0, over Avi Seidman from the sixth spot to give the Rams the 3-0 advantage early on. Reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Posillico stepped up and helped clinch another Fordham win, his second in three weeks, with a 6-1, 6-0, win over Rudansky.

Tomas Cosmai defeated David Papis Elon, 7-5, 6-3 in first position, before Lebedyev grabbed Yeshiva's lone point with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Alonso in #2 singles. Borak grinded out a 7-5, 3-6, 10-3 result over Mikey Ozery to round out the afternoon.

The Rams host Hunter College tomorrow, April 2, at the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 10 a.m. before heading over to Adelphi for a 4 p.m. clash in Garden City, N.Y.
