Victor Li has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second time already this spring season, the league announced on Tuesday afternoon. It is the third overall honor for the Fordham men's tennis team, along with
Tomas Cosmai's Player of the Week award a month ago, the same week Li won his first.
The Rams were downed, 6-1, against Saint Louis on Sunday evening at Life Time Athletic in nearby Harrison, N.Y., but Li earned his second straight singles victory with a solid 6-2, 6-4 victory over the Bilikens' John Nogalski to give the team its' lone point. Li was making his collegiate debut in #3 singles and is now 4-3 overall in solo match play.
The freshman out of Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy, France, also made his debut in top doubles, with
Nick Borak, but dropped a tough 7-6 (7-1) contest.
Fordham is back in action at Hofstra on Saturday at noon with the team's first outdoor matches of the spring campaign.
